UPDATE: Lindsey is currently taking an indefinite break from her photography business in order to allow time for the growing family.
Here is a copy of the note posted on her fan page on facebook:
It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing this note…. After much thought, prayer and consideration Gary and I have decided that it is best if I take an indefinite break from Lindsey Spraggins Photography. As some of you may know, my photography business was a part time job for me as I work full time somewhere else. I love photography, I love capturing beautiful moments for clients… it has always been a true passion of mine. Even when I was my busiest (working 3 months straight between both careers) I truly enjoyed what I did and never relied on it for a financial supplement… it was always solely for a love of the lens.
As we look forward to the future and welcoming our new baby to our family we know that my main purpose as a Mother will be to raise her and capture all the special moments in her life. I will need a flexible schedule in order to allow for those spontaneous trips to the park, the zoo or just spending an afternoon in the backyard. Unfortunately at this time my schedule doesn’t allow for much spontaneity with 2 jobs and so the best solution that fits our family is for me to step back from the photography business for a while and focus on our growing family. During this break, I will continue to carry my camera everywhere, I will continue to learn new techniques and processes and am going to take this time to really get back to the basics of my favorite hobby.
I want to personally thank my business partner (and friend) Amy (whom I photographed many weddings with) – she and I always had a lot of fun together shooting weddings and I truly could not have done some of them without her. Amy, you are incredible and I wish you so much success with your continued business! I will truly miss hanging out with you for 8 hours at a wedding and the giddy excitement that we would have as we edited photos together afterwards. I love that we share an incredible passion for this hobby and will always admire your work.
I also want to thank each of you for all of the support through these past years – your reinforcement and encouragement helped me pursue my favorite hobby as a business and I can’t express enough gratitude for that.
So with a bittersweet heart (and a few tears) I will say goodbye to this “baby” of mine as we anticipate the arrival of our precious daughter in June. We are so excited about the future and are anxious to see what is in store for us down the road.
Love to all,
Lindsey
PS – If you need a photographer, I happen to know a few and can send a recommendation your way ![]()
