Tomorrow is our “due” date

I’m almost laughing out loud because you assume a due date means that something is due before then. We have 28 hours if she wants to be born on her “due date”… so we will see if she chooses to be on time. And if she chooses to not be on time then that’s ok too… I’m sure this won’t be the last time in her life that we will wait on her.

We are VERY ready to meet her – I know I’ve said it before but seriously, we are READY!  I’ve walked around the block at least 10 times in the past 2 days trying to get something going…. and I have had some movement — occassional contractions, etc… but nothing consistent at this point.

The scary thing is that if she doesn’t come tomorrow then I need to sit real still all weekend long because evidently ALL of our doctors will be out of town this weekend. Let me remind you that we chose a practice with 4 doctors so that this wouldn’t happen and so that we wouldn’t feel rushed to have a baby around a doctor’s vacation schedule. Ironically, we found out on Wednesday that this weekend another practice is covering all births this weekend. So… with that being said… I’m REALLY hoping that she comes tomorrow or waits until Monday because I think it would be awfully weird to deliver this baby with someone we’ve never met.  But, if she chooses to come this weekend then that will be ok too – we’re on her schedule now :)

Some time for reflection – it’s been an incredible pregnancy – no serious problems, not a whole lot of sickness, and weight gain that is appropriate. We went out to eat tonight and talked about how it seems like just yesterday that we found out we were pregnant and all of the exciting things during pregnancy. What a wonderful journey this has been… we are now ready for the next part of the journey where she’s here and we get to hug her and kiss her all we want.

She’ll be here before we know it — but hopefully sooner rather than later! :) We promise to keep everyone posted!
