Branson Birthday Trip

I had an incredible birthday! We got to celebrate by going on a little baby moon to Branson Missouri — it was a short little trip but it sure was fun just getting away for a few days with my honey. We drove there and 14 total hours in the car can lead to great conversations, lots of incredible singalongs, and some interesting sights. Some of my favorite moments with Gary are when we have great conversations in the car… he and I could talk for hours…. especially when we’re driving. It’s just nice.

Anyway — the trip was great! We had a lot of fun and got to spend some quality time together.

I’m still trying to play catch up :)

Here are some photos of our journey:

We stayed overnight in Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday night and woke up to drive to Branson on Sunday… this was in Arkansas driving down the road.

The last time I remember a Shoney’s was the one in Tyler before it closed down — I had to take a picture.

A very pregnant me (24 weeks)… checking out the view.

* Side note – on this trip is the first time that someone (who didn’t know me) asked when I was due.

Which means I’m obviously showing enough for a stranger to recognize that I’m pregnant :) It was a great moment and caught me a little off guard (but in a good way). :)

Us going to my birthday dinner

me… taking pictures.

The Worman House where we ate dinner on Valentines Day/birthday — so delicious!

I love this man — he’s so sweet to me and planned such a special trip :)

There’s a lot of pressure on a man whose wife’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day, but Gary always seems to make it perfect.

I was trying to lift up the plate and the cakes slipped… made for a good laugh and a funny picture.

My attempt to capture snow at night…

Part of the “strip” in Branson… this was their off-season so it was not near as busy as it is in the spring, summer and fall.

Any place that serves tea our of a jar is my kind of restaurant — we had lunch at Farmhouse Restaurant in Branson Landing — it was so delicious!

Anybody looking for an egg with Elvis in it?

When you’re in Branson you must see an Elvis. So, we went to a show… and saw Elvis and the future Elvis.

A few pictures before we left…

We took the road less traveled due to a slight navigation issue — the road less traveled provided some beautiful scenery!

Sunset as we were driving.

God Bless Texas (and the 15 acre display that welcomes you to Texas) :)

We noticed Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri barely even had signs that welcomed us to their state.. so we were happy to see things bigger in Texas.

So, that was our trip — now it’s back to real life.
