Paisley Dress

Tonight I finished my latest dress… same style as the last one just with different fabric. I really like this one… and I’m really proud of it because it came together a lot easier than the first one (the first one is always the hardest). The only bad part about tonight was that I accidentally stitched my finger. Those of you that have done this (hopefully not many) know it hurts very badly. My machine was giving me some trouble and I tried messing with it while I had my foot on the pedal. I guess my hand-eye-foot coordination was a little off and I accidentally pressed the pedal. Luckily, I was on the phone with my Mom when it happened and she calmed me down and made me not feel so silly when she told me that she has done it too. Ouch! It really hurt… but it’s starting to feel better now and will heal soon enough.

Here is the dress.  I will forever remember this dress and will laugh (or cry) every time I see it. :)

I love this fabric… Have I ever said before how much I love paisleys? I’m pretty sure I have… but just in case I love paisley’s and fleur de lis’.

Lindsey, when I was at Mothers today and looking at her fabric, she pulled out a piece of fabric with paisleys and I said “oh, paisleys, I always remember my Granny, (her mother) loved paisleys, all her dresses were made of fabric with paisleys and by the same pattern!” No sooner than I said it I remembered how much you love paisleys too! Memaw said “Well, she did inherit something from the Williams side!” You are a lot like my Granny Williams, she loved to sew so much, she was a seamstress for the public! She even made fully lined suits! I wished you could have known her, she would be so proud to know her Great granddaughter was continuing the sewing skills past down through her. I know Lillian will enjoy the skills you will pass on to her. Be sure and save some scraps of the fabric from these dresses for a future quilt!!!! Love the dress, be sure and put some peroxide on that finger!
    Love you so much!
