This weather made me want to make some tomato stew… this is my Mom and Grandma’s recipe. So simple. enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Crockpot

2 cans of Diced Tomatoes

Small can of Tomato Sauce

2 cans of Diced Potatoes

1 lb. of Ground beef (cooked)

1 white onion

Butter, garlic powder, salt, pepper, sugar

A box of corn bread mix

Optional: corn niblets, peas, green beans, etc… (feel free to add in what you like)

1) Turn the crock pot on high

2) Start browning your beef

3) Open the cans and pour in the tomatoes and potatoes

4) Chop up half a white onion and add it to the stew. Then mix in your vegetables (I chose corn, you can add whatever you like)

5) Add in the spices: 1 tspn of garlic powder, 1 tspn of salt, 1 tspn of pepper, 2 tbsp of butter and the secret ingredient… 2 tbsp of regular sugar

6) Once your beef has finished browning, add it in to the crock pot. Stir it all together.

7) Clean up your mess and close the lid. Cook for 2-3 hours on high.

8) About 30 minutes before dinner, cook your corn bread and enjoy a delicious bowl of tomato stew with cornbread. Yum!

Enjoy!
